I have been sharing my fuckboy adventures on my Instagram page, @DatingTrAPPs, for several months. Prior to that, I would share them on my personal page, but they became so frequent that I made the decision to develop a dedicated space to share screenshots of my experience on dating apps.
Things were going fine for awhile, until last week when Instagram deactivated my page. I have sent dozens of emails and DMs to Instagram with no response, so I’m back on Medium to air my grievances.
I can’t know for sure what led them to censor me, as I woke up Monday morning unable to log in with no notice or explanation, but I suspect I pissed some people off, particularly in Northwest Arkansas, where I do most of my swiping. Sorry, not sorry.
Here’s what went down:
On Sunday, March 8th, I received some unsolicited dick pics via Instagram DM. This was NOT the first time I have been visually assaulted for simply existing online, and sadly, I know it won’t be the last. But after reporting these specific boys (@theunofficialneptune & @joeyoo2) over and over and getting notices back that their accounts did NOT violate IG’s policies, I made the decision to take things into my own hands.
I took screenshots of my Instagram DMs and edited them so that the offending genitals were covered up. Then I posted those screenshots and tagged the sex offenders mentioned above to shame them for their display of public indecency.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep on saying it until laws are passed and men are prosecuted:
If you whip your dick out in the street, you get arrested and put on a sex offender list for life. So what the fuck makes it okay to send photos of your junk to my phone without my consent?
It is a form of sexual assault. It is abuse; and we must pass cyber laws to prevent this.
So because I published censored “pornography”, I was permanently banned from using the Instagram platform, but these boys still have active accounts when what they sent me was certainly not censored.
Tell me, how that makes sense…I’ll wait.
The neptune fucker is still harassing me on my personal IG page. He has sent me at least a dozen pictures of his micropenis. I have reported each of them, and none were removed. Additionally, myself and others have reported his account for harassment, and Instagram has done nothing. A friend of mine even found a forum where women are discussing this sex offender and how IG won’t delete his account despite the fact that he has assaulted hundreds of women on their app.
He has sent dick pics to my personal followers and people who interacted with @datingtrapps.
What strikes me as interesting, is that my account was never flagged so long as I was sharing screenshots from Tinder and Bumble, but the second I put IG on blast for not protecting its users, I was banned.
I have emailed them, I have sent dozens of screenshots and messages to the official Instagram profile. Hell, I even called a phone number I found online in an attempt to get my page back up and running.
In silencing us, Instagram is perpetuating cyber sex crimes, validating sex offenders, and punishing victims.
This is not okay. I will not be quiet. I will continue to make noise about this until wrongs are made right and victims are given a voice.
